Pseudolabor born out of psychogenic nonepileptic seizures: a case report of multisymptom conversion disorder.

چکیده
Psychogenic nonepileptic seizures (PNES) are a familiar trigger for consultation of the general hospital psychiatrist. PNES during pregnancy have not been well described in the literature. The conversion phenomenon of pseudolabor, which features prolonged abdominal muscle contractions in the setting of pregnancy, has only been described twice previously. We report a case of a pregnant woman admitted for seizure-like episodes who subsequently developed symptoms potentially consistent with preterm labor.
